Questions from a student
"1) For Question #4, Solve Applications Pricing Problem . . . what are we
trying to solve for?"
pricing.xls solves the problem with the givens. It gives you various
profit for various prices. You are next required to change the givens to
reflect higher interest costs.
Finally you have to adjust for a union settlement that raises costs to
$1.50
"2) For Question #2, Problem 6 page 315-316 , part 2 - quantity in the
long run. I think I must have missed this day. I believe I found the
correct equation, but I wasn't sure if I did this correctly."
Here look at the equilibrium conditions for profit to be maximized in the
long and short run.
"3) For Question #3, Problem 7 Page 316, show we be solving for an exact
number, or just listing equations. If we solve for values, can we use the
values from previous part, aka can q=6.2?"
Solve for exact values. q can be a non integer.

Exam # 2 answewrs are up
Average grade 35.4 out of 50
SD 5.5
Correlation between sum problem sets and sum of exams= .677
Correlation between score on PS 2 and Test 2 = .463
The rank in scores for Test 2 was 49 to 24.
The person who got 48 last time did better this time, increasing his grade
to 49! Overall the second test had the highest grade up 1 and the lowest
grade down 1.
A few people decided not to answer a few questions which is a choice hard
to justify with utility theory since the score is the number right, with
no reduction in grade by wrong answers.
